Job description

The Quality Associate position has two primary functions: production auditing and receiving inspection.  The production auditing consists of continuous monitoring of the production processes to confirm product conformance including first-off approvals.  The receiving inspection technician verifies product conformance of outside supplied materials including disposition of rejected materials and performing computer transactions for inventory purposes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  (All Quality Associates)

  • Interact with internal customers.
  • Meets quality and quantity levels of assigned work, housekeeping, and safe work practices.
  • Generates reports as required and verify accuracy of all documentation.
  • Monitor and enforce ISO/TS16949 and ISO 14000 policies and procedures.
  • Support the implementation, achievement, and maintenance of the Quality and Environmental Policies and Procedures

RESPONSIBILITIES:  (All Quality Associates assigned to production auditing)

  • Performs first-off inspection for set-up approval, material change, color approval, and die changes.
  • Gauge parts per inspection instructions.
  • Record inspection results and material dispositions.
  • Identify materials for proper disposition such as OK to use, Hold, Rejected, etc.
  • Audit compliance to policies/procedures to assure consistent product conformance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  (All Quality Associates assigned to receiving inspection)

  • Perform inspection per inspection instructions on supplied materials.
  • Identify materials for proper disposition such as OK to use, Hold, Rejected, etc.
  • Audit compliance to policies/procedures to assure consistent product conformance.
  • Record inspection results and material dispositions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  (All Quality Associates assigned to rejected supplier materials)

  • Coordinate disposition of rejected materials including requesting return authorizations from suppliers.
  • Generate all paperwork associated with the disposition of rejected materials including scrap tickets, return authorizations, shipping documents, inventory adjustments, reject notifications, etc.
  • Sort and/or rework rejected parts as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  (All Quality Associates assigned to data entry)

  • Enter data from received materials for inventory purposes.
  • Enter data from inspections performed by QA production auditing.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 1 year experience in the quality field.

 

SKILLS:

  • Above average mathematical skills, written skills, and verbal skills
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, etc.
  • Computer literate
  • Capable of overall professionalism in a business environment
  • Must be able to judge color visually and must pass the Farnsworth Munsell 100 Hue test yearly.

TRAINING SPECIFIC to POSITION:

  • Capable of using basic measurement devices such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.

 

OTHER:

  • Ability to travel for extended periods of time with limited prior notice
  • Must be able to work any assigned shift
