Quakers, also known as the Religious Society of Friends, are members of a Christian movement that began in England in the 17th century. They are known for their commitment to peace, equality, simplicity, and social justice. Quakers typically worship in a way that emphasizes silent meditation and the idea that everyone can have a direct relationship with God without the need for clergy. They have played significant roles in social reform movements, including the abolition of slavery and the promotion of women's rights. Today, Quakers can be found worldwide and are involved in various humanitarian efforts.

Quaker pastors or meeting leaders typically guide worship services, provide spiritual support to members, and help facilitate decision-making processes rooted in consensus. Their daily activities often include planning worship, organizing community outreach, meeting with members for pastoral care, and collaborating with committees to address the needs of the meeting. The role emphasizes active listening, fostering a sense of community, and upholding the values of simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality, and stewardship. Collaboration is central, as most Quaker communities operate with shared leadership and seek unity in decision-making.
