What is a Quaker?

Quakers, also known as the Religious Society of Friends, are members of a Christian movement that began in England in the 17th century. They are known for their commitment to peace, equality, simplicity, and social justice. Quakers typically worship in a way that emphasizes silent meditation and the idea that everyone can have a direct relationship with God without the need for clergy. They have played significant roles in social reform movements, including the abolition of slavery and the promotion of women's rights.
