Job Description:

Role Overview: Tops Peer Influencers are dedicated student leaders committed topromoting health and well-being among their peers at Tri-C. These studentleaders will be trained and certified through the Mental Health First Aid[MHFA] which will play a crucial role in guiding students towards resources andsupport while facilitating activities that enhance health awareness andholistic well-being. This position is supported by the Division of StudentExperience and housed in the Campus Counseling Centers. The role reportsdirectly to the campus Counseling Managers and Assistant Deans of Counselingwith an emphasis on leadership, education, and positive impact, but does notinvolve providing medical or mental health counseling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete Training:
  • 2-hour Question, Persuade, Refer [QPR]
  • 7.5-hour Mental Health First Aid [MHFA] Training
  • Peer Education Training
  • Peer Support: Maintain a presence on campus, serving as a resource and referral point for peers.
  • Assist with Counseling Service Centers new student onboarding
  • Programming & Initiatives: Help plan, execute, and participate in event tabling and assist in planning, and execute health & wellness programs and events, including Student Involvement Fairs, Success Week, and Wellness Fest. May include setting up equipment and traveling to another campus.
  • Consult with Counseling Manager for relevant events and assignments
  • Advertising: Support the promotion of events and programs through various means and provide recommendations for social media presence.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate monthly reports of events, programs and assignments
  • Presentation Delivery: Present on health and wellness resources and topics at various campus events, student groups, and academic classes.
