Summary 

Be the go-to expert who keeps our operation running at its best. As a Multi Craft Maintenance Technician, you will be a versatile, hands-on asset to the operations team, working across departments to support safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. You will help prevent issues before they arise, apply strong problem-solving skills to real time challenges, and promote a proactive, safety focused maintenance culture. This role is ideal for technicians who enjoy variety, take initiative, and make a meaningful impact through continuous improvement and technical expertise. 

 

Schedule: 2nd Shift: Rotating 2-2-3, 6:00pm-6:00am 

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Performs extraordinarily complex technical tasks and decision-making. 

  • Must be able to demonstrate/achieve and maintain Maintenance Tech III expert proficiency within 10 months of hire. 

  • Must also demonstrate a strong knowledge around PLC troubleshooting and interaction with PLC Hardware. 

  • Trouble shoots, maintains, and repairs complex machinery. Troubleshooting and repairs on AC/DC/Servo Motor Control System and Instrumentation Control Systems. 

  • Collaborates well with production associates and other technicians to solve problems with reliability and urgency. 

  • Investigates and repairs electrical and mechanical systems/machinery. Problem solves and performs/ preventative maintenance. Maintains work records and prepare clear and concise oral and written reports. 

  • Conducts root cause analysis on system and equipment malfunctions and efficiencies. Recognizes and reports unusual, inefficient, or dangerous mechanical and electrical situations. 

  • Seeks ways to drive plant and maintenance cost efficiencies. 

  • Role models, mentors Maintenance Technicians. Provides "hands on" training and direction to lower-level mechanics and techs in properly servicing, repairing, and maintaining the equipment operated by the Company. 

  • Utilizes appropriate safety precautions, methods, and apparatus to minimize and withstand exposure to chemicals, dust, and mechanical and electrical hazards. Learns and observes all safety precautions as required by Perdue. 

  • Works all required work schedules. 

Minimum Education and Experience 

  • High School Diploma or GED High School Diploma or GED and Equivalent Experience.  

  • Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing.  

  • 8+ Years experience in Industrial maintenance, troubleshooting, problem-solving and repairs on Mechanical and Electrical Equipment, and/or Equivalent Military Experience.  

  • Expert Proficiency in Hydraulics, Mechanics, Electrical, PLC, Welding and Rigging Maintain Perdue Farms QEW Certification.  

  • Commitment to Continuous Learning to achieve increasing levels of expertise.  

Preferred Education and Experience 

  • 2-year Technical Degree in Engineering or Industrial Maintenance.  

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors 

  • Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, reaching overhead and/or at shoulder level, lifting (50 lbs.) and/or repetitive tasks throughout the day.  

  • Position requires occasional moving to other offices or buildings.  

  • Day travel to nearby locations is sometimes required.  

  • May need to access files, supplies, and equipment. 

When in a plant environment:  

  • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.  

  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.  

  • May handle products from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.  

  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.  

  • May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing plant. 

  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
