Job Details
Job Summary:
The Safety Technology Analyst will develop and oversee processes related to Onboard Event Recorder (OBER) devices. The Safety Technology Analyst is responsible for training shop and terminal staff on matters such as proper installation, repair, and inventory related to OBER devices. The Safety Technology Analyst will review and advise on event videos and provide support to the Manager of Safety Technology.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Create, review, distribute and update daily/weekly OBER reports.
  • Provide feedback to the Manager of Safety Technology so that appropriate action(s) can be taken.
  • Oversee shop installation to ensure OBER activations are correctly completed.
  • Search, trim/transfer, download, distribute and archive Onboard Event Recorder videos
  • Create and manage the QDI/OBER Intranet Communication Website.
  • Provide guidance to Compliance staff in regard to performance.
  • Manage team projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Oversee event reporting and evaluations.
  • Train department staff as needed, on the OBER Electronic Logging system and document requirements.
  • Identify and provide coaching training needs for terminal and driver managers.
  • Provide guidance to drivers and terminal staff to ensure OBER devices are operating correctly.
  • Oversee department staff when Managers are unavailable.
  • Advise upper management of outstanding department issues and provide guidance for resolution.
  • Providing OBER footage to the Claims and Legal Department.

Requirements
Skills and Abilities:
  • Must have proficient knowledge and skills in operating a computer and utilizing Microsoft Office applications to include: Work, Excel, Power Point and Google application.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • This position will require direct supervision of department employees with oversight from the Manager of Safety Technology.
  • Oversee shop staff with installation and activation processes.
  • Oversee and assist terminal staff in scheduling OBER repairs.
  • Provide guidance to terminal managers/coaches to address portal matters such as creating and updating user/truck profiles and updating driver, truck and group assignments.
  • Advise IT department of API implementation in reference to OBERs.
  • Oversee OBER equipment needs and availability.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
  • This is a full-time position, days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. to include being on call after hours and on weekends. Must be available after hours and weekends during a Federal or State Compliance Review.
