Job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced CDL Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate WILL be able to operate manual transmission(s) and will be responsible for movement of local van freight (with possible OTR that is typically 1 - 2 nights out), ensuring timely and safe delivery while adhering to all regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.

Duties

  • Operate various types of trucks and tractor-trailers.
  • Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, verifying that all shipments are secure.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes taken, and delivery schedules.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Navigate routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding any delays or issues encountered during transport.
  • Handle minor maintenance tasks as needed, including checking fluid levels and tire pressure.
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients during deliveries.

Qualifications

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL A) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle being operated.
  • Proven experience in truck driving tractor-trailer and flatbed trucks.
