Job Profile
JOB SUMMARY:
The Quality Assurance Coordinator (QAC) reports to the Director of the Health Care for the Homeless Program and is responsible for performing statistical analysis utilizing data and data systems for quality, patient safety, and patient satisfaction. The QAC prepares and disseminates accurate and timely reports related to program performance and keeps abreast of current reporting agencies' standards and latest quality techniques in health care. This coordinator investigates issues of concern from a quality or safety standpoint as presented by staff, patients and families; and takes appropriate action. The QAC supports infection control and patient safety initiatives and contributes to the performance improvement/quality assurance process.
The QAC upholds high standards of integrity and ethical behavior; demonstrates professionalism; and promotes a customer-friendly environment for both internal and external clients by utilizing ServiceFirst behaviors while interacting with patients, visitors, and staff members.
Minimum Qualifications
Degree: Master of Health Sciences or related field required. Holds at least one of the following in: Master or Doctoral degree. Master of Public Health or Master of Healthcare Administration (preferred).
Licenses & Certifications: Certified Professional in Health Care Quality (CPHQ) certification (preferred),
Basic Life Support (BLS) from a hospital- based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program.
Work Experience: Three (3) years work experience. Recent experience in coordinating projects/programs preferred. Experience with Uniform Data System preferred. Experience in Data Analysis.
Language Skills: Bilingual (preferred)
Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact), Writing/Reports.
Proficiencies: MS Word, Personal Computer
