I.  DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

The role of the software test manager is to lead the testing team. Test Manager plays a central role in the Team. The Test Manager takes full responsibility for the project's success. The role involves quality & test advocacy, resource planning & management, and resolution of issues that impede the testing effort.

The QA Lead will provide overall leadership for quality assurance strategy, planning, execution, and governance for a large-scale Electronic Health Record (EHR) SaaS implementation. This position requires strong experience in healthcare application testing, data migration validation, ETL testing, functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing (UAT) support, defect management, vendor coordination, and stakeholder reporting.

The ideal candidate will ensure that EHR workflows, data conversion activities, SaaS configuration changes, interfaces, and vendor releases meet business, clinical, regulatory, audit, and project delivery standards.

The QA Lead will work independently with minimal supervision while coordinating closely with program leadership, IT teams, vendors, and business users. This role will help ensure the solution meets functional requirements, data integrity standards, security and privacy regulations, and applicable compliance mandates.

Key Responsibilities

•       Lead the overall QA strategy, planning, and execution for the EHR SaaS implementation.

•       Develop and maintain QA governance, testing approach, schedules, and resource plans.

•       Serve as the primary QA point of contact for program leadership, IT teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.

•       Provide regular reporting on testing status, risks, metrics, and defects to project management and stakeholders.

•       Ensure defects and issues are tracked, prioritized, resolved, retested, and validated before deployment.

•       Lead validation testing for data migration and conversion from legacy EHR and ancillary systems. Validate patient, clinical, pharmacy, billing, and historical records for accuracy, completeness, and reconciliation.

•       Review and test ETL processes, data mapping documents, validation rules, and reconciliation reports.

•       Conduct pre-load and post-load validation, record counts, field-level verification, and exception analysis.

•       Coordinate testing of interfaces, inbound/outbound data feeds, and downstream reporting impacts.

•       Lead functional testing across EHR modules, including clinical, scheduling, orders, medications, documentation, and billing.

•       Validate end-to-end workflows across user roles, including clinicians, nurses, pharmacy, registration, and administrative staff.

•       Ensure workflows align with business, clinical, and regulatory requirements

•       Execute and oversee system testing, integration testing, regression testing, and UAT support

•       Ensure SaaS configuration changes and vendor releases are fully tested

•       Partner with business and clinical SMEs to prepare UAT scenarios and test cases

•       Support and guide UAT execution, defect triage, and sign-off activities. Create and maintain test plans, test cases, traceability matrices, and test evidence

•       Track defects and test execution using testing tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, ALM, Jira)

•       Support manual and automated testing approaches where applicable

•       Ensure documentation meets audit, compliance, and project delivery standards

Note: Expected Start Date 09/03/2026 and Expected End Date 08/31/2027. May be renewed up to 3 years. Background Check required.

Position is Onsite (Austin, Texas 78751). Program will only allow candidates who are LOCAL TO THE AUSTIN AREA (Within 50-mile radius).  

Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding State holidays when the agency is closed. The worker may be required to work outside the normal business hours on weekends, evenings and holidays, as requested.
