Job Summary: The QA/QC Technician is responsible for supporting assigned projects by conducting on-site inspections and collaborating closely with the project team to ensure quality installation. This role requires a proactive team player with strong interpersonal and organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and effective problem-solving abilities. The QA/QC Technician must be adaptable to tight deadlines and shifting project needs, serving as an essential resource, and providing an objective, third-party perspective to uphold project standards and support successful project delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities - Essential Functions

Participate in the second Handoff on projects to get familiar with project requirements. Manage and support QA/QC functions on assigned projects as directed by the Department Manager or QA/QC Technician Supervisor. Schedule regular meetings with Project team to discuss schedule and job site inspections. Coordinates with General Contractor's project QA/QC team and attends regular scheduled meetings. Coordinate and assist in training and support for project team on the QuickBase QA/QC App. Promote the use of Best Practice Guides shown in the QuickBase QA/QC App to help the project team achieve quality installations. Perform and document underground inspections as needed in the QuickBase QA/QC App. Conduct and document inspections of temporary power in the QuickBase QA/QC App. Inspect received equipment for the project as outlined by the QuickBase QA/QC App. Creation of any nonconformance reports for damaged equipment received. Inspect switchboards and panelboards as designed by the QuickBase QA/QC App. Inspect all other equipment purchased by Starr or its owner on site as designed by the QuickBase QA/QC App. Witness and verify torque and megger (Meg) reports done by project team as designed by QuickBase QA/QC App. Inspect wall and overhead (OH) installation to identify punch list items. Sign off and verify completion of all punch list items as designed by QuickBase QA/QC App. Verify that all closeout documents are completed on site as required by the QuickBase QA/QC App. Foster positive relationships within the organization by promoting an upbeat work climate. Travel to jobsites, including out-of-town locations to perform required functions. Support and administer office administrative functions, as directed by appropriate authorities. Perform other duties as assigned by Department Manager or QAQC Technician Supervisor.

Job Specifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Proficient in Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and the QuickBase QA/QC App. Proficient in writing internal and external correspondence. Ability to focus, organize, and prioritize essential functions of this job to meet deadlines. Ability to foster and maintain effective teamwork. Excellent and professional communication skills. Flexible and adaptable in responding to changing demands and priorities.

Education, Experience, and/or Prerequisites Preferred:

Five (5) years minimum of operational experience at a level of Foreman/Superintendent, with emphasis on construction in the electrical industry.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, and move about construction sites for extended periods. Capable of climbing ladders, scaffolding, and working at heights as required. Able to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch to inspect installations in confined or difficult-to-access spaces. Tolerance for exposure to varying weather conditions and outdoor environments. Ability to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots as required by job site safety protocols.
