JOB SUMMARY

An Electrical Quality Assurance Tech ensures that electrical and mechanical systems and components meet quality standards and comply with project specifications. This role involves both quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) processes throughout the project lifecycle.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help develop, review, and implement processes to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Review electrical and mechanical drawings for correctness and compliance with company standards.
  • Perform validation testing on components or component systems being designed
  • Coordinate with other Quality teams to ensure quality of incoming materials and components.
  • Supervise or assist in independent third-party testing for components.
  • Collaborate with team members and managers to uphold process and quality standards.
  • Assist in the definition and monitor adherence to quality control procedures.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, JOB SKILLS

  • Associate degree or technical certification in electronics, electrical engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Current or past certifications in quality assurance or quality control are preferred.
  • 1-5 years of experience in QA/QC roles, particularly in electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in electrical and mechanical design software (e.g Altium, Onshape) preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to constantly traverse throughout an industrial or shop environment to access equipment and work areas.
  • Ability to frequently bend, kneel, squat, reach, and ascend/descend to service equipment.
  • Ability to effectively complete tasks in confined spaces and environments with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Ability to position and move tools, equipment, and components up to 50 lbs. on average 5 times a day.
  • Ability to effectively operate and manipulate hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments.
  • Ability to detect, identify, and respond to safety risks and environmental cues while performing essential functions.
