Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to support food safety and product quality across production operations. This role is responsible for monitoring, verifying, and auditing various stages of the manufacturing process to ensure products meet established standards. The QA Technician will work closely with production, maintenance, and sanitation teams to resolve quality issues and ensure regulatory compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety policies, regulations, GMP standards, and company procedures.
  • Monitor products for compliance with specifications such as weight, packaging, and ingredients.
  • Perform and document monitoring and verification checks of Critical Control Points (CCPs) and Preventive Controls (PCs).
  • Conduct equipment and area inspections before and during operations to verify proper cleaning and sanitation.
  • Place product, equipment, or areas on QA Hold when non-conformances are identified.
  • Respond to food safety concerns including foreign materials, non-conforming product, and issues in receiving or shipping.
  • Observe personnel to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Inspect raw material deliveries and trailer conditions; assist with unloading and loading as needed.
  • Pull samples for shelf-life, sensory evaluation, and laboratory testing.
  • Perform daily sensory checks, including taste, crust color, icing patterns, toppings, and overall product appearance.
  • Analyze issues and determine appropriate corrective actions within established guidelines.
  • Conduct daily and weekly equipment calibrations.
  • Support GMP and Glass/Brittle Plastic audits, including completing and signing related documentation.
  • Comply with all food safety policies and programs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience with inspection and quality control methods in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing preferred).
  • Ability to use a variety of measuring devices and verification tools.
  • Capable of working effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude, solid work ethic, and alignment with team and company goals.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to evolving processes.
  • Proficient computer skills; able to use documentation and reporting systems.
  • Strong team-oriented mindset.

Education & Experience

  • 1–3 years of Quality Assurance or related experience (food manufacturing preferred).
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform tasks requiring walking, standing, bending, lifting, and exposure to a production environment.
