Tetra Tech performs civil infrastructure design and permitting support for a combination of municipal governments and private companies throughout the US.  Our team is growing at a steady pace and needs a staff civil engineer in our Diamond Bar, CA office to continue to support future and ongoing contracts.  Our office consists of several technical disciplines that provide services within the civil, environmental, geotechnical, mechanical, structural, construction, and field services. The pay scale for this position is $90K-$130K annually, based on qualifications and experience. 

Your Role:

  • Work on design teams to create design drawings for heavy civil infrastructure including mass and detailed grading, drainage, roads, tanks, pipelines, concrete structures using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Prepare engineering cost estimates, detailed calculations, design basis reports, construction quality assurance plans, and technical specifications.
  • Meet with clients and regulatory agencies during the design process through video conferencing and in-person.
  • Opportunity to perform limited-duration field construction administration assignments.
  • Perform field construction support tasks by responding in a timely manner to construction field requests and performing occasional field inspections.
  • Perform surface water hydrology, hydraulic studies, and design drainage facilities.
  • Assist with general permitting large environmental projects.
  • Mentoring of new and intern staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) and/or master's degree (M.S.) in Civil Engineering.
  • 4 to 8 years of experience.
  • Computer knowledge in MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with local and remote team members.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently when managing multiple tasks.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in an engineering consulting firm or experience with preparing grading plans and details using AutoCAD Civil 3D is considered an asset.
