Job description

Program Overview
The Naval Array Technical Support Center (NATSC) is a U.S. Navy facility operated by Leidos. NATSC provides repair, refurbishment, upgrades, and testing for Navy towed sonar arrays that support submarine and surface ship operations. Leidos supports production engineering, logistics, and technical services to keep these systems mission-ready for the U.S. Navy and Foreign Military Sales customers.
Job Description
We are hiring an Engineering Technician IV supporting our Navy Array Technical Support Center (NATSC) contract in Newport, RI. The candidate, under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager (QAM), will support the efforts of the NATSC mission.
Responsibilities:
  • Quality Assurance support of all programs at the Depot, Hose/Tow Cable fabrication/repair shops and QA Receiving.
  • Evaluation/Inspection of work performed in accordance with Government generated Work Instructions, drawings, specifications, ECPs and other approved guidance.
  • Develop/review and implement quality plans/procedures.
  • Training/scheduling of new hires.
  • Perform tasks in NDA (NATSC Depot Application) and CMPro supporting Quality Assurance applications
  • Tasking/scheduling of QA inspectors for all programs.
  • Monitoring/review of audits generated by QA inspectors to uncover trends and or discrepancies.
  • Maintain a Quality Assurance Proficiency Training Program and provide input to the QAM on a yearly basis. Provide training for QOP-007 Good Documentation Practices for the entire depot.
  • Create/revise/review Quality Standard Forms (QSF) and Procedures (QSP).
  • Launch Material Review Board (MRB) and Trouble Reports (NTR) in support of operations in all programs.

Required Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • High school/vocational school diploma or GED certificate or Technical school diploma and 3+ years of experience within a Quality Assurance group supporting a depot repair and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD secret level clearance. Must have a minimum of a DOD Interim secret level clearance to start in this position.
  • Familiar with standard computer operation and Microsoft Office products.
  • Familiar with ISO 9001-2008 quality standards and their application to quality management programs.
  • Must have the capability and skill to pay attention to detail along with effectively communicating with all departments and the customer

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience using computer/network based inventory management and job tracking systems. Specifically, experience using the NATSC Depot Application (NDA) and CMPro document control system.
  • Active DOD secret clearance or Interim Secret clearance.
  • Prior work experience at the NATSC Towed Array depot repair facility.
  • Documented experience supervising repair technicians and technical repair line operations.
  • Familiar with Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) processes and procedures related to depot operations.

This position is covered under the Service Contract Act and is subject to minimum wage requirements as well as the minimum Health and Welfare benefit. Leidos will ensure that all provisions are met through their wages and benefits. The pay for this position will be $32.25/hr.
