GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Perform incoming, in-process and final visual and mechanical inspection of all parts and product received and manufactured at KMI SAC in accordance with applicable drawings, SCD's or vendor specifications. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively. Administer training and prioritize projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Verify documentation of product received, in-process and final inspection
• Verify count of product received, in-process and final inspection
• Perform internal visual inspection IAW Mil-Std-883 Method 2010/2017
• Perform Solder/PWB Inspection IAW J-STD-001, IPC-A-610
• Perform external visual inspection IAW appropriate outline drawing, SCD or specifications
• Perform mechanical inspection IAW appropriate drawing(s), SCD or specifications
• Perform data review and generate Certificates of Conformance
• Generate, Disposition and Close Discrepant Material Reports as required
• Interface with purchasing, manufacturing, engineering, customers (CSI)
• Performs internal audits and generates reports
• Participate in annual Registrar audits (AS9100, ISO 9001)
• Maintain computer/manual logs
• Repackaging and shipping of parts as required
• Administer training to lower-level inspectors
• Administer group training for processes/procedures
• Assist/Backup any quality functions as needed
• Accountable for the quality and timeliness of own deliverables.
• May be responsible for up-skilling new team members.
• Conveys and exchanges basic technical or information with colleagues/clients/customers; audience is typically knowledgeable about the subject matter.
• Other duties as assigned.

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Proficiency in Mil-Std-883 Methods 2010 (Monolithic) and 2017 (Hybrid)
• Proficiency in ANSI Y 14.5 Dimensioning & Tolerancing
• Proficiency in J-STD-001/IPC-A-610 Soldering STD
• Minimum 10 years Inspection experience / 15 years MIC manufacturing experience
• Good manual dexterity/hand eye coordination
• Able to interpret drawings
• Ability to administer training to lower-level Inspectors
• Ability to administer and prioritize projects
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
• Ability to work with minimal/no supervision
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to remain stationary (sitting or standing) for long periods of time and use hands to handle objects, delicate instruments and small parts.
• May occasionally be required to lift up to 20 pounds.
• Inspectors require good vision, depth perception and the ability to use both low and high-power microscopes for long periods of time.
• Shop floor environment / workbench or workstation.
• Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
• Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrist, using hand tools).
Travel Requirements: Yes, as required.
