About the Role

Voltage is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector - Incoming Inspection to ensure all incoming materials meet engineering specifications and quality standards prior to release to production. In this role, you will serve as a critical quality gatekeeper, working cross-functionally to identify issues early, maintain material integrity, and prevent supplier-related defects from impacting manufacturing operations.

What You'll Do
  • Perform inspection of incoming raw materials, components, and supplier-provided assemblies.
  • Verify material compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and purchase requirements.
  • Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections as required.
  • Review Certificates of Conformance (COCs), test reports, and supplier documentation.
  • Accept, reject, or hold incoming materials based on inspection results.
  • Generate nonconformance reports (NCRs) and coordinate containment actions.
  • Segregate and control nonconforming materials to prevent use in production.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Engineering, and Supplier Quality on material disposition.
  • Track supplier quality issues and support corrective action processes (SCARs).
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and material traceability documentation.
  • Record inspection results and inventory status in ERP/quality systems.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce incoming defects.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and internal quality requirements.
What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of incoming inspection, supplier quality, or manufacturing quality experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with inspection processes and supplier documentation review (COCs).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP or similar).
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Associate degree in Quality, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in wire harness, electronics, automotive, or similar environments preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with inspection tools and equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards preferred.
