Quality Assurance Technician - Erlanger, KY
Job Summary: 
This is a 3rd shift job with timings from 10pm to 6:30am.

The Quality Assurance Technician role is a technical position within the Quality organization and reports to the QFS Manager. The QA Technician will support the implementation and enforcement of the Quality and Food Safety Management System requirements throughout all of the manufacturing process in order to ensure compliance with the company policies, FDA cGMP, and industry standards. This role requires strong communication skills, prioritization based production needs, and adaptability with fast paced environments. This role will require the ability to work independently to push the production team to success. The personnel that fill this role are expected to present a professional image to internal departments and facilitate the success of the operations group.
Primary Job Functions: 
Perform Risk Based Quality, Layered Audits based on:
  • First Pass Quality Deviation, Rejections 
  • EMP Failures and related GMP practices 
  • Customer complaint data (cap seal / torque, bag closer, box seals, leaking containers)
  • Foreign material risks (Glass, plastic, wood, gasket material, etc.)
  • Weigh compliance
  • Formulation Compliance (staging, scanning, order of addition, etc.) 
  • Calibration Compliance (Torque wrenches, scales, magnets, etc.) 
  • Weight Verification Label compliance 
  • Validation of CCPs and OPRPs
  • GMP, Allergen, G&BP program audits
Support Technical QA in Cross Functional Initiatives 
  • Audit for implementation and sustainment of CAPAs 
  • Provide interface with operators during MOC validations
  • Monitoring of GMPs during MOC, Construction, etc.
  • Provide 24/7 back-up coverage for micro sanitation and EMP swabbing 
  • FS&Q Skills Validation support to operations
  • Escalate issues to Technical QA 
Coordinate Activities of contracted Quality Inspectors which include:
  • Labeling compliance
  • Leaking Container,
  • Box Making 
  • Sweeping/GMP support
  • GMP Inspections 
  • Daily GMP Walkthrough
  • Weekly Glass and Brittle Plastics Inspections
Requirements:
  • Two (2) year associates degree in a science related field (Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, etc.) or 3-5 years food or beverage manufacturing QA experience working in a production environment
  • Follow all company policies, cGMP, Food Safety, FDA, USDA, GFSI, FSMA, OHSA Safety regulations, QMS and SOP / SSOPs.
  • Must have strong quality and food safety technical skills and problem solving / organizational skills (cGMPs, basic microbiology including swabbing, IPM, hygienic design, and sanitation).
  • Ability to read written Instruction, SOP, SSOP and write production quality reporting on documentation or in computer data base programs
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills including written and verbal communication of technical results              
  • Demonstrated capacity to excel in a fast-paced work environment
  • Proficient in computer processes and Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs and walk/stand throughout shift
