Position Summary

Joseph's Bakery is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Quality Assurance Technician to join our Quality Assurance team on 1st and 2nd shift. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring food safety and product quality throughout the manufacturing process, conducting inspections and audits, calibrating equipment, and ensuring compliance with SQF, GMP, HACCP, and company quality standards.

This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, ideal for individuals who are analytical, organized, and passionate about maintaining the highest standards of food safety and product quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor food safety and product quality throughout the production process

  • Perform daily GMP and internal quality audits throughout the facility

  • Verify corrective actions and ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards

  • Conduct finished product inspections and quality checks

  • Perform monthly Glass and Hard Plastics audits and maintain required documentation

  • Calibrate production equipment, including scales, water meters, flour meters, thermometers, and pH meters

  • Conduct cleaning inspections, metal detector CCP checks, and cleaning chemical titrations

  • Collect and prepare product samples for laboratory testing

  • Complete daily quality reports, temperature logs, and other required documentation

  • Promote a clean and safe work environment while supporting SQF, GMP, HACCP, and company quality programs

  • Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Sanitation, and Management to maintain food safety and product quality

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous Quality Assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred

  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, GMPs, HACCP, and food safety programs preferred

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and product quality

  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time

  • Frequent bending, reaching, climbing stairs, twisting, and repetitive movements

  • Ability to lift and carry materials as needed

  • Ability to perform equipment calibrations and production inspections

  • Willingness to work on 3rd shift and support production operations as needed
