Our Construction Phase Services group assigned to Waterloo, ON construction projects is looking for a Graduate Quality Assurance Inspector to complete inspections as part of a team on Highway, Road and Bridge construction projects. Apply theory and principles of civil engineering in planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of structures and facilities under the direction of engineering staff or physical scientists.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: 

  • Personal Capability Building: Develop and maintain excellent procedural or technical skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
  • Testing: Perform a variety of standard tests requiring a moderate level of judgment.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Perform basic data entry tasks, including data verification.
  • Solutions Analysis: Assess compliance with established standards and protocols for parts of routine inquiries.
  • Project Management: Carry out defined project tasks.
  • Equipment Installation: Carry out simple installation tasks, following detailed instructions and working under close supervision to complete the allocated tasks.
  • Insights and Reporting: Perform basic data reporting tasks to support others by using established procedures.
  • Work Scheduling and Allocation: Organize own work schedule each day in line with changing priorities.
  • Plant and Machinery Maintenance and Repair: Maintain and repair plant and machinery under close supervision to ensure that operational requirements are met, including conformance with regulatory and organizational health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Product and Solution Development: Support others by carrying out simple product development or engineering tasks, such as gathering data or preparing documents. Involves following established procedures.

What you will bring to the Team

Education

  • Completion of Civil Engineering Technician or Technologist diploma, or completion of Civil Engineering degree.

Experience

  • General Experience: 0-2 years of experience in related field.
  • Past experience in construction field work is considered an asset;
  • Valid Ontario Class "G" driver's licence;
  • Team player, cooperative with other staff with open sharing of information and knowledge.

The salary range for this position is $30/hour. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for GHD locations in its major city centres. Ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At GHD, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and adhere to all relevant pay transparency legislation.
