Job Title: Senior Engineer, Quality Assurance Engineering
Location: Onsite (Utah, Salt Lake City)
Employment Type: 6 Months

Position Summary: 
The Senior Engineer, Quality Assurance Engineering is responsible for developing and implementing methods, procedures, and systems that ensure product quality, reliability, and compliance with established specifications. This role focuses on process control, testing, inspection, and continuous improvement to minimize defects and failure rates while ensuring products function as designed. The position operates as an individual contributor, requiring independent judgment, technical expertise, and minimal supervision. 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance methods, processes, and procedures for product testing, inspection, and process control.
  • Design, configure, and install advanced testing equipment and systems to support product validation and quality verification.
  • Conduct detailed product testing, analysis, and failure investigations to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Analyze defect reports, test results, and production data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
  • Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to reduce defects and improve product reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and supplier quality representatives to resolve quality issues.
  • Engage with suppliers to address quality concerns and support supplier corrective action and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to internal quality standards, industry regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Document findings, prepare technical reports, and present recommendations based on data-driven analysis.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality and process efficiency.
Required Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Quality Assurance Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, process control, and testing methodologies.
  • Experience in analyzing defects, failure modes, and quality data trends.
  • Familiarity with corrective action processes and root cause analysis techniques (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound technical judgment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to evaluate complex technical data. 
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Experience with automated or advanced testing systems and equipment.
  • Exposure to supplier quality management or external vendor collaboration.
  • Knowledge of industry quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001 or equivalent).
