Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a QA Associate Manager to join our Growth Marketing Operations (GROMO) team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in marketing campaign testing and quality assurance, with expertise in audience segmentation, personalization logic, and campaign execution validation.
This role requires a deep working knowledge of marketing deployment platforms-including how to build, test, and troubleshoot campaigns using systems like Iterable, Adobe Journey Optimizer, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working within these platforms to design campaign logic, validate audience segmentation, resolve execution failures, and monitor post-send performance. You understand not just how to test campaigns, but how the underlying system logic impacts deliverability, targeting accuracy, and cross-channel orchestration.
The primary focus will be on testing, diagnosing, and optimizing marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including email, SMS, push, and in-app messaging. You will work closely with marketing, CRM, and data teams to ensure flawless campaign execution and identify potential issues before launch.
As Hinge Health continues to scale its marketing complexity, this role will also help evolve QA toward more automated, AI-assisted, human-supervised ways of working. At the P3 level, that means using AI and automation to improve the speed, consistency, and depth of campaign validation, while applying strong judgment to verify outputs, investigate anomalies, and recommend practical process improvements. This role is not expected to set the company-wide AI QA strategy, but it should actively contribute to a more modern, scalable quality practice through thoughtful experimentation and day-to-day adoption of new tools.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH (aka Outcomes)
Testing & Validation
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for marketing campaigns and audience segmentation logic.
  • Validate dynamic content, personalization rules, event triggers, and data accuracy before deployment.
  • Identify, document, and track issues related to segmentation mismatches, automation logic, and campaign execution failures.
  • Apply a mix of manual, exploratory, and repeatable validation methods based on campaign complexity, risk, and timeline.
  • Use AI-assisted workflows where appropriate to accelerate pre-launch checks, spot inconsistencies, and improve test coverage, while maintaining human review and final QA accountability

Diagnostics & Troubleshooting
  • Investigate live campaign issues using platform logs, segmentation reports, and campaign performance data.
  • Collaborate with marketing operations, CRM, and data teams to troubleshoot campaign execution errors.
  • Validate webhook integrations, API connections, and cross-channel marketing triggers, as needed.
  • Surface recurring failure patterns and recommend practical guardrails, checklists, or workflow changes that reduce repeat issues over time.

Data Analysis & Quality Assurance
  • Ensure audience segmentation accuracy and data integrity before deployment.
  • Use SQL or marketing analytics tools to verify segmentation logic and troubleshoot discrepancies.
  • Validate tracking parameters (UTMs, attribution tags) to ensure correct campaign performance reporting.

Process Improvement & Documentation
  • Develop QA checklists, testing procedures, and best practices for marketing campaign validation.
  • Document troubleshooting steps and campaign QA methodologies to improve team efficiency.
  • Provide recommendations to enhance workflow efficiency, audience segmentation, and testing approaches.
  • Monitor campaign quality signals after launch and use findings to improve future test strategies and defect prevention.
  • Partner with teammates to trial more automated or AI-supported approaches to campaign QA, anomaly detection, and data validation where they can reduce manual toil without compromising quality.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of study.
  • 2+ years of experience in QA, marketing operations, or CRM platform testing.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with marketing automation platforms (e.g., Iterable, Braze, Salesforce Marketing Cloud).
  • 2+ years of having a strong understanding of email, SMS, push, and in-app messaging campaigns.
  • Familiarity with segmentation logic, audience targeting, and personalization strategies.
  • Ability to analyze campaign performance data using Google Sheets, Looker, or Mode Analytics.
  • Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills, particularly in diagnosing segmentation and campaign execution issues.
  • Experience working cross functionally with marketing, CRM, and analytics teams.
  • Demonstrated curiosity about AI and automation, with the ability to use emerging tools thoughtfully to improve QA workflows while maintaining strong judgment and accountability for final outputs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Basic SQL skills to analyze campaign data and investigate segmentation issues.
  • Experience using Postman, Retool, or similar API testing tools for troubleshooting integrations.
  • Familiarity with QA automation tools or scripting languages (Python or JavaScript) for efficiency improvements.
  • Understanding of direct mail QA processes and print vendor integrations.
  • Knowledge of email deliverability best practices, sender reputation management, and campaign performance monitoring.
  • Experience in fast-paced, agile marketing environments with rapid iteration cycles.
  • Experience experimenting with AI tools, prompt-based workflows, or automation assistants in a marketing, operations, or QA context.
  • Familiarity with human-in-the-loop QA approaches, where AI helps accelerate validation but humans remain responsible for judgment, escalation, and release readiness.
