About the Position: ** This is a time-limited position. ** The Quality Assurance Coordinator (LPN) supports East Mississippi State Hospital's Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement program by coordinating data collection, monitoring quality indicators, maintaining dashboards, reviewing performance trends, and assisting departments with improvement activities. The position works closely with departmental leadership to develop meaningful quality measures and ensure required reports are submitted accurately and timely. The Quality Assurance Coordinator reviews and presents data related to patient care, safety, regulatory compliance, and hospital performance, including seclusion and restraint use, medication errors, falls, critical laboratory value response times, and other identified quality indicators.
What you'll need to be Successful: To be successful in this position, the Quality Assurance Coordinator must demonstrate strong organization, attention to detail, clinical judgment, and the ability to interpret and communicate quality data clearly. The employee must be able to work collaboratively with departmental leadership, identify trends, follow up on reporting requirements, and help translate data into meaningful performance improvement activities. Success also requires proficiency with technology and reporting tools, confidence in presenting information to staff and leadership, and a strong commitment to patient safety, regulatory compliance, confidentiality, and continuous improvement. The employee should be dependable, analytical, professional, and comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines in a complex healthcare environment.Knowledge of Joint Commission and DMH requirements; and proficiency with Microsoft Office and healthcare reporting systems.
Preferred Qualifications: Typically requires a certificate or diploma from an approved school of practical nursing, current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Mississippi, and zero to four years of nursing experience. Agency Preferred Qualifications: Experience in healthcare quality performance improvement, utilization review, or clinical reporting.
