Job description

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Analyze production and process data to identify trends, solve problems, and recommend performance improvements.
  • Identify bottlenecks and opportunities for optimization using data-driven decision-making.
  • Apply SPC, DOE (Design of Experiments), and process quality tools to improve reliability, reduce scrap, and enhance performance.
  • Daily, Weekly and Monthly reporting as required.
  • Lead/support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Operational Excellence (OPEX) standards.
  • Develop, document, implement and train Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices.
  • Support efforts and ensure consistent manufacturing practices across departments.
  • Serve as a technical resource to ensure equipment efficiency and achievement of production milestones.
  • Facilitate communication between Production, QA, Engineering, and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing and Engineering teams to improve equipment standardization and performance.
  • Provide input to both tactical and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Promote workplace safety by identifying risks and supporting preventative measures.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS, GMP, OPEX, and food safety standards.
  • Report any deviations and participate in required safety, quality, and compliance training.
  • Provide expertise in applying advanced technologies to meet business goals.
  • Support manufacturing operations in a 24/7 environment.
  • Support IT-related initiatives across both Shop Floor and office environments.
  • Develop/maintain training materials and help coordinate training of personnel across all shifts.
  • Maintain documentation for employees regarding training needs, certifications, skills assessment, and completed training.
  • Provide information on training effectiveness to Leadership.
  • Identify areas for improvement in the training process.

Educational and Other Skill Requirements: 

  • Well versed in general computer use.
  • Microsoft office usage, including basic macros in excel
  • Python, Java, C+ programming languages a plus
  • Understanding of IT switches, ports, and how to troubleshoot with assistance.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a manufacturing facility preferably plastic processing, is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills as well as the ability to motivate others with enthusiasm and drive.  Excellent organizational skills and the ability to understand complex production processes are necessary.
  • General knowledge of the interface of auxiliary equipment with other devices for improved operating efficiencies.
  • General knowledge of plant utility systems such as: Pneumatics, Chilled Water Systems, and Tower Water Systems
  • General knowledge of injection molding and related processes.
  • Strong knowledge of CAT III Safety Requirements and familiarity with Control Reliability, and RRI (Routine Repetitive, Integral)
  • Ability to think “outside the box” and consider both internal (plant resources) and external customers for projects.
  • Emphasis on equipment operating features resulting in the most efficient use of facility resources, highest quality product, with zero opportunity for shipping out product that does not conform to specification.
  • Familiarity with high speed, rotating machinery such as assembly and lining is required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical issues to various levels within the organization.
  • Understanding and ability to prepare in depth technical specifications for procurement of equipment
