Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client seeking a Java/Python Developer to join their team in Atlanta, GA.
Summary:
The main workstream this person will be focused on is their major management system as well as a specific team. The booking team is the main focus and they essentially house all the data behind every transaction and kick start to where the order takes place and sits. This team is in the process of retiring systems and migrating all their services over to another engine which will then connect into the POS/Booking. This person specifically will be tasked with building AI agents and are expected to understand how to build AI agents from scratch while understanding the business value behind the agents and how to connect them to MCP. Lastly, they will also be a part of the broader team working in Java 21+, Spring Boot, Elastic Search, Cassandra, and Google Cloud Platform along with other tools and with a mix of ML and data. Overall, they are looking for a strong blend of Java/Python along with someone who has experience building agents and leveraging AI.
REQUIREMENTS:
Advanced Orchestration & State Management:
* Deep practical knowledge of agentic and graph-based frameworks
* Candidates must know how to manage short-term context, handle token limits efficiently, and implement long-term agent memory using vector databases
* Mastery of agent routing, parallelization, orchestrator-worker patterns, and evaluator-optimizer loops
Tool Use & Environment Integration (MCP):
* Strong familiarity with open standards like Anthropic's MCP for connecting agents to local tools, data sources, and enterprise systems
* The ability to design clean, deterministic APIs and CLI tools explicitly optimized for LLM consumption
* Experience deploying agents securely using containerization to isolate agent execution
Modern AI Developer Ecosystem & Workflows:
* They should have hands-on experience with tools like Claude Code, Cline, Aider, or OpenHands, understanding how these systems read repository structures, manage .claudemd or system prompt guidelines, and parse multi-file codebases
Software & Systems Engineering:
Hardcore Software Fundamentals:
* Languages: Expert-level Python or TypeScript/JavaScript
* Asynchronous Programming
* Languages that help agents: Knowledge of strongly typed languages or strict type definitions to enforce data contracts between agent handoffs
Rigorous Testing & Deterministic Guardrails:
* Automated Validation Gates: An understanding that agents cannot iterate fast without rapid feedback loops
* Human-in-the-Loop (HITL): Designing architectures where the agent safely knows when to stop and ask a human for intervention
LLMOps & Observability:
Telemetry & Tracing:
* Proficiency with AI tracing and observability platforms
* The ability to monitor cost, latency, and explicit tool execution logs to debug unexpected agent behavior or loops
Evaluation (Evals):
* The skill to build automated "Eval suites-
Main requirements:
* Java
* Python
* Experience building agents
