Job description

We are looking for a Linux (VMware) System Engineer with 4+ years of experience to support large-scale data center and server migration projects. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Linux administration, VMware ESXi/vSphere, iSCSI storage, LVM, virtualization, and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute physical and virtual server migrations with minimal downtime.
  • Manage VMware ESXi, vMotion, Storage vMotion, and VM migrations.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Linux, iSCSI storage, and LVM environments.
  • Automate migration tasks using Bash/Python and infrastructure tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful migration and post-migration support.
  • Optimize system performance, security, and reliability throughout the migration lifecycle.

Required Skills:

  • 4+ years of Linux System Administration experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with VMware ESXi/vSphere.
  • Expertise in iSCSI, LVM, Bash/Python scripting, and networking.
  • Knowledge of OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, Git, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience in large-scale data center, P2V, V2V, or site-to-site migration projects is highly preferred.
