Summary

The DevOps Infrastructure Engineer will design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and automated cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure. This role leverages Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitHub Enterprise for DevOps workflows, including CI/CD pipelines to support infrastructure and application code deployments. The engineer will collaborate with development teams to support and optimize Azure-hosted web applications built with Angular (front-end) and Python (back-end), ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance with organizational standards.

The salary range for this position is $101,000 - $151,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

This is an onsite role at our Salisbury, MD Corporate Offices.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Infrastructure Automation:

  • Design, build, and manage Azure infrastructure using Terraform for automated provisioning and configuration.
  • Maintain Infrastructure as Code repositories and enforce best practices for version control and modular design.

CI/CD Pipeline Development:

  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to automate build, test and deployment process for applications and infrastructure.
  • Integrate automated testing, security scans, and deployment strategies into pipelines.

Application Support:

  • Collaborate with development teams to deploy and maintain Angular and Python web applications on Azure App Services.
  • Optimize application hosting environments for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

  • Configure monitoring, logging, and alerting for infrastructure and applications using Azure Monitor and related tools.
  • Diagnose and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues promptly.

Security & Compliance:

  • Implement security best practices for Azure resources, including identity management, network security, and data protection.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Minimum Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.  
Experience Requirements
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a DevOps Infrastructure engineer or similar role. Strong knowledge of the Azure cloud platform.  Experience with cloud architecture frameworks and best practices. 
  • Proven experience in Azure cloud infrastructure design and management.
  • Strong proficiency in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles.
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub Enterprise for general administration, source control and CI/CD automation.
  • Familiarity with Angular and Python application deployment in Azure.
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and identity management in Asure cloud environments.
  • Strong communication, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, YMAL or Python.
Experience Preferred
  • Master’s degree in a related field. 
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect). 
  • Strong knowledge of Azure Virtual Desktop architecture and management. Strong knowledge of AWS, and Google Cloud platforms.
  • Experience with Serverless, containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes/AKS).
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
  • Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
  • May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
  • May need to access files, supplies, and equipment.
  • Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
