Caterpillar Inc. seeks Elec Sys V&V Sr. Engineer at its facility located at 2427 E Engine Drive, Chillicothe, IL 61523.
Designs, develops, and integrates state of art telematics systems for onboard and digital teams within Caterpillar. Responsible for continuous improvement efforts that enable Caterpillar to deliver high quality products and services. Test cutting-edge embedded telematics software and customer applications. Work in a team environment utilizing simulation as well as actual Hardware in the Loop to test all aspects of the Caterpillar Digital system, including both onboard the machine as well as back-office features. Develop technical skills in software verification, troubleshooting, and test automation. Will be part of a global team and will work closely with others to conduct release testing, resolve issues, automate testing, and investigate field issues involving both software and electronics. Participate in the design and development of Next generation telematics concepts and complex engineering projects for release to production in a manner to ensure products provide superior performance, durability, quality, digital connectivity, and serviceability. The position requires the use of Python, and NPI processes, test automation, and standard test documentation.
REQS: This position requires a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or a related field plus 5 years of experience in embedded software engineering or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Python and NPI processes; (2) Test automation and standard test documentation; (3) Hardware in-loop (HIL); (4) Test planning and test execution; and (5) Ethernet Datalink Simulation using Vector CANoe.
