The Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute/Department of Neuroscience at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Post Doctoral Fellow.

About the Opportunity

The Latifi Lab at the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute (West Virginia University) is seeking for a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral fellow with a strong background in in vivo two-photon (2P) imaging and quantitative data analysis. The candidate must have hands-on experience in both experimental execution and analytical pipelines and be able to contribute immediately to ongoing projects.

What You'll Do

* Design, execute, and optimize in vivo 2P imaging experiments
* Perform surgical preparations and imaging acquisition in rodent models
* Develop and implement data analysis pipelines
* Integrate imaging data with behavioral and multimodal datasets, including clinical data
* Contribute to experimental design, data interpretation, and troubleshooting across projects
* Prepare figures, manuscripts, and presentations for publications and grants
* Collaborate across interdisciplinary teams and contribute to overall lab operations

Qualifications
  • PhD in Neuroscience, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Physics, or related quantitative disciplines.
  • Experience in both experimental execution and analytical pipelines.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong expertise in data analysis (e.g., Python, MATLAB; signal processing, time-series analysis, or machine learning)
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with in vivo 2P calcium imaging (imaging acquisition, troubleshooting)
  • Proven ability to independently design, execute, and analyze experiments
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with network-level analysis, graph theory, or AI/ML approaches
  • Familiarity with rodent models (e.g., stroke, TBI) and behavioral assays
  • Experience integrating multimodal datasets
