Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Python Engineer to design and scale the CI/CD and hardware-in-the-loop automation infrastructure and tools supporting multiple embedded and wearable platforms. This role drives the reliability, scalability, and observability of our automated test systems, directly impacting development velocity and product quality for a large engineering and QA organization. The ideal candidate combines deep Python automation experience with strong CI/CD systems knowledge and has built resilient, fault-tolerant infrastructure in complex device environments. Success in this role means you will:

  • Reduce infrastructure-related test failures.
  • Improve time-to-signal from commit to actionable feedback.
  • Scale automated testing across additional platforms and products.
  • Improve test and device reliability through observability and automation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain Jenkins CI/CD pipelines using Groovy (scripted and declarative), shared libraries, and multistage workflows.
  • Build and maintain Python automation tools for device control, firmware updates, diagnostics, and test execution.
  • Implement resilient device management and fault-tolerant pipeline logic to reduce infrastructure-related failures.
  • Develop targeted retry and rerun mechanisms to improve pipeline efficiency.
  • Configure and manage load-balanced test environments and execution groups for multiple products & platforms using embedded, Android and iOS devices.
  • Collaborate with firmware, QA, DevOps, and hardware teams to improve test reliability and scalability.
  • Enhance and maintain pytest-based frameworks and shared testing utilities.
  • Build and maintain CI monitoring dashboards (job duration, queue time, device failures).
  • Create technical documentation, runbooks, and best practices.
  • Mentor team members on Python development and CI/CD standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Deep background in Python development and automation.
  • Strong experience designing CI/CD systems (Jenkins or similar), including pipeline orchestration and shared libraries.
  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or device-based testing.
  • Hands-on experience integrating embedded systems, Android, and iOS devices.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for pipeline, infrastructure, and device failures.
  • Proficiency with Git, GitHub, and code review workflows.
  • Experience working in cross-functional engineering environments.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with mobile or UI automation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of vendor toolchains and firmware flashing processes.
  • Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, or CI analytics tools.
  • Exposure to cloud-based CI systems and distributed test infrastructure.
