Location:Buffalo, NY (onsite 4 days per week)

Duration: 12 months

We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure & Automation Engineer responsible for building, maintaining, supporting, automating, securing, and optimizing enterprise infrastructure environments. This role combines Linux and Windows server administration, virtualization, infrastructure automation, DevOps practices, monitoring, security, and operational support.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience across enterprise infrastructure technologies and the ability to automate deployments, configurations, and operational processes.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Management

  • Build, maintain, and support Linux and Windows servers and virtualization environments.
  • Administer Linux environments, including RHEL, Ubuntu, and SUSE.
  • Perform Windows Server administration and support core operating system functions.
  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, storage, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Perform server provisioning, patching, certificate management, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
  • Apply networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, and firewalls.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and support the ongoing reliability and availability of enterprise systems.

Automation & DevOps

  • Automate infrastructure deployments, configurations, and operational processes.
  • Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell, Bash, and Python.
  • Utilize Ansible and Automic for automation and configuration management.
  • Support and maintain CI/CD pipelines using platforms such as Azure DevOps and GitLab.
  • Manage Git version control and repository processes.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and ARM templates.
  • Automate operating system deployment and configuration management.
  • Implement automation for monitoring, alerting, and infrastructure operations.

Operations & Security

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, secure, and optimize enterprise infrastructure.
  • Support endpoint security and vulnerability management activities.
  • Apply Linux and Windows hardening standards.
  • Support identity and access management using technologies such as Active Directory, LDAP, and RBAC.
  • Utilize monitoring platforms such as Kibana, ELK, and Dynatrace.
  • Perform log management and troubleshooting using platforms such as Splunk, ELK, and Graylog.
  • Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, and performance tuning.
  • Support compliance and auditing requirements.
  • Maintain accurate operational and technical documentation.
