Job description

Cepeda is looking for a talented Senior Radar Engineer to join the STARS Planner Software Development Team. You will drive the technical implementation of radar models and evolution of mission‑critical warfighter training and planning tools. STARS FBM Planner is a Java based application that provides warfighters and sensor managers with the ability to rapidly plan, optimize, and deploy layered sensor search plans in operational timelines. Your Engineering expertise will directly enhance the survivability and battlespace awareness of fielded assets, integrating high‑fidelity intelligence data, complex physics‑based models, and tactical hardware health into a streamlined operational tool.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design and execute radar simulations using Python, Java, and MATLAB to support programmatic decisions.
  • Design radar features and interfaces to be included in the Planner software.
  • Research radar capabilities and features to represent in the FBM Planner toolset.
  • Support Software product development by creating tooling for behavior validation.
  • Support radar design reviews and conduct technical evaluations for defense systems.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related engineering field from an accredited institution.
  • 9+ years experience working with radar systems, simulations, and electronic warfare, preferably within the defense sector.
  • Extensive experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, and MATLAB.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data‑driven decisions.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance is required.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous roles as a Systems or Radar Engineer with notable projects in radar simulations and electronic warfare.
  • Experience working with U.S. Army DEVCOM, MDA or similar defense organizations.
Desired Skills
