Azure Data Engineer position at GSSR Inc. Cincinnati, OH.

Key Skills
  • Experience setting up databases, creating dimensional models in Synapse, and tuning.

Responsibilities
  • Model and design data in Azure Synapse.
  • Work on cloud migration methodologies and processes, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Databricks.
  • Expert in SQL, Python, Spark, Databricks.
  • Use PySpark for ingesting and transforming varied data file formats (Avro, JSON, CSV).
  • Design and implement ingestion processes for unstructured and structured data sets.
  • Develop data cleansing routines.
  • Handle troubleshooting and performance tuning of Spark and SQL queries on multi‑terabyte datasets.
  • Use Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines to deploy code.
  • Implement and manage Terraform scripting.
  • Own data quality processes, data architecture, data warehousing design and implementation; develop fact and dimension tables, logical & physical database design.
  • Lead team; deliver presentations; translate product requirements to the team.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years of hands‑on experience designing, configuring, implementing and migrating medium to large enterprise data platforms.
  • Experience with Azure data services including Azure Functions, Python, SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Terraform, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, T‑SQL and stored procedures, Azure Log Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse.
  • Experience with DevOps processes and Terraform scripting.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, data architecture, data quality processes, metadata and master data standards.
  • Possession of Microsoft Azure certifications is a plus.
