A DAY IN THE LIFE:
As a Manufacturing Test Engineer I (Software), you will help develop and maintain the automated software test systems that ensure Innoflight's products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability before they launch into mission-critical applications. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll build Python-based automation tools, troubleshoot production test issues, and collaborate with Manufacturing, Industrialization, Software, and Hardware Engineering teams to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Develops Automated Test Software: Assists in developing, implementing, and maintaining automated manufacturing test software and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) that support reliable production testing.
  • Creates Python Test Automation: Develops and modifies Python-based test scripts that interface with automated test equipment (ATE), laboratory instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and units under test.
  • Troubleshoots Production Issues: Supports investigation of manufacturing test failures by collecting test data, identifying software or hardware issues, and assisting with root cause analysis.
  • Improves Manufacturing Performance: Analyzes production test results and recommends improvements that enhance test efficiency, product quality, and First Pass Yield (FPY).
  • Maintains Production Test Systems: Supports deployment and maintenance of scalable manufacturing test solutions while documenting software updates, test procedures, and configuration changes.
  • Collaborates Across Engineering: Partners with Manufacturing Engineering, Industrialization, Software, and Hardware Engineering teams to support new product introductions and manufacturing readiness.
  • Supports Manufacturing Operations: Provides technical support to manufacturing technicians by maintaining automated test software and assisting with issue resolution.
  • Drives Continuous Improvement: Participates in design reviews, production readiness activities, and continuous improvement initiatives while expanding expertise in manufacturing automation.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 1 or more years of experience in software development, test automation, manufacturing engineering, ATE, or a related engineering environment (internships/co-ops considered).
  • Working knowledge of Python programming.
  • Basic understanding of software debugging, scripting, and automated test methodologies.
  • Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation, embedded hardware, ATE, or manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Exposure to Linux, SQL databases, version control systems, or automated test frameworks is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The starting base salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 per year, depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a competitive base salary, Innoflight offers a well-rounded compensation package that includes a Profit-Sharing Bonus and a Cash Performance Bonus to reward both individual and company performance.
