Position Description:
Develops software applications in Java Web services and application programming interfaces (API) solutions. Maintains the functionality of HTTP-based APIs by leveraging query languages including GraphQL. Implements DevOps tasks using container-based runtimes and orchestration (Kubernetes, Rushhour, DataDog, Jenkins, and Splunk). Develops applications using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), RESTful services, Extensible Markup Language (XML)/JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), and modern application servers. Implements Business Process Management (BPM)/Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) solutions using Camunda. Provides business solutions by developing complex software applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and implementing scalable, high-quality financial software solutions using Java, Python, and TypeScript, while applying Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and implementing scalable, high-quality financial software solutions using Java, Python, and TypeScript, while applying Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") designing, implementing, and deploying on-premises and cloud-based Java web applications, using Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools (Jenkins and Artifactory), for scalability and security; and integrating APIs and building microservices using Java, Python, Node.js, and TypeScript, emphasizing performance and maintainability.
  • DE building scaled distributed systems and cloud-native applications leveraging Docker, Kubernetes (AWS EKS), AWS ECS, and AWS-native CI/CD pipelines (CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and GitHub); and achieving high availability, fault tolerance, and operational efficiency across AWS environments.
  • DE designing and implementing modern front-end and micro-frontend architectures using React, Angular, and TypeScript, integrated with AWS services for cloud-native deployment; and building responsive, high-performance user interfaces (UIs) leveraging component-driven design and frameworks (Bootstrap and AngularJS) to deliver exceptional user experiences.
  • DE designing and developing web and middleware applications with RESTful APIs using Java, Python, PowerShell, and Git, following Agile and TestDriven Development (TDD) principles; and building and deploying cloud-native solutions on AWS leveraging Lambda, API Gateway, S3, and DynamoDB to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance enterprise applications.
