On-site 3 days per week in either Irvine, CA or Portland, OR, Austin, TX or Woburn, MA
Our client seeks an AI/ML Engineer to design, build, and productionize advanced machine learning and generative AI solutions supporting semiconductor manufacturing and Customer Quality initiatives. The role requires strong Python and PyTorch skills, experience with agentic frameworks and RAG, and the ability to collaborate with semiconductor engineering teams.
This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k, and life insurance.
Rate: $70.00 to $80.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and deploy production-grade AI/ML models for semiconductor manufacturing and Customer Quality use cases.
  • Develop solutions using Python and PyTorch, including generative AI, RAG, and agentic workflows.
  • Build and maintain scalable AI pipelines in Azure environments.
  • Collaborate with semiconductor engineering stakeholders to translate domain problems into AI solutions.
  • Participate in architecture and solution design discussions and document technical decisions.
  • Own hands-on coding deliverables and contribute to code reviews and MLOps practices.
  • Prepare for and complete Python technical evaluations during the interview process.

Experience Requirements:
  • Strong proficiency in Python and PyTorch. TensorFlow experience acceptable if transferable.
  • Experience with agentic frameworks such as LangChain or comparable tools and familiarity with RAG and LLMs.
  • Experience building production-grade AI systems and scalable enterprise AI pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Azure services for AI workloads.
  • Strong mathematical foundation in calculus and differential equations.
  • Ability to communicate complex AI concepts to highly technical non-AI stakeholders.
  • Semiconductor or manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.

Education Requirements:
  • Master's degree minimum in Electrical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science with AI/ML focus, Physics, or Applied Mathematics.
  • PhD preferred. Candidates with a Master's degree and exceptional AI/ML experience will be considered.
  • Research credentials such as publications, patents, or conference presentations are preferred.
