Job description

POSITION PURPOSE: Old World Industries is seeking a Operations Data Analyst to support data-driven decision-making across supply chain operations. Reporting to the Senior Director of Planning, this role will focus on delivering accurate, timely reporting and actionable insights across areas such as demand planning, supply planning, logistics, and procurement.

This position will partner closely with Supply Chain, Business Operations, and IT to enhance data visibility, improve reporting consistency, and support ongoing analytics initiatives. The role will also contribute to the exploration and adoption of emerging analytics capabilities, including AI and automation, to strengthen supply chain performance over time.

DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting & Analytics (Primary Focus)

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports (primarily in Power BI) to support Supply Chain, Logistics, and Purchasing teams.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across reporting outputs.
  • Translate business requirements into clear, actionable reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of standardized KPI reporting for supply chain performance (e.g., forecast accuracy, inventory levels, service levels, transportation metrics).
  • Provide ongoing reporting and analytical support for planning cycles, including demand and supply planning.

Data Management & Governance (Support Role)

  • Partner with IT and data teams to support data governance, data quality, and data consistency initiatives.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving data integrity issues impacting reporting and decision-making.
  • Contribute to maintaining a "single source of truth" for key supply chain data elements.
  • Support documentation of data definitions, reporting logic, and KPI standards.

Business Partnership

  • Work closely with Supply Chain stakeholders to understand reporting needs and identify opportunities for improved insights.
  • Support ad hoc analysis to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings or service improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Planning, Logistics, Procurement, Finance) to align reporting and metrics.

Advanced Analytics & Continuous Improvement

  • Support development of analytical models for forecasting, inventory optimization, and operational performance tracking.
  • Assist in analyzing demand patterns, supply variability, and logistics performance to inform business decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting processes and improve efficiency.

Technology & AI Enablement (In Partnership with IT)

  • Identify and implement AI/ML use cases (e.g., forecasting, segmentation, anomaly detection)
  • Collaborate with data science teams to deploy predictive and prescriptive models
  • Evaluate and integrate AI tools to automate reporting and operational workflows
  • Develop data pipelines and workflows that support AI-driven decision-making (i.e., Power Automate, Python...)
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5-8+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or supply chain analytics.
  • Strong experience with Power BI, including dashboard development and data visualization best practices.
  • Expertise in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python)
  • Understanding of supply chain processes, including demand planning, inventory management, logistics, and procurement.
  • Familiarity with data governance and data quality concepts.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for business users.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills; ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Intellectual curiosity and interest in leveraging data, analytics, and emerging technologies (including AI) to improve business performance
