As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Corporate Sector, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on Software Engineering and application development and 7+ years applied experience
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Python and/or Java with demonstrated delivery of secure, high-quality production code
  • Strong experience building cloud-native solutions on AWS (compute, storage, security/IAM, networking, observability)
  • Strong experience with LLMs and agentic systems, including orchestration patterns, tool/function calling, retrieval, structured outputs, evaluations, and safety/guardrails
  • Experience building data-intensive applications and workflows using Databricks (Spark, Delta, jobs/workflows)
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and React for building modern web applications
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods; strong SDLC discipline (CI/CD, testing, code quality, release controls)
  • Advanced understanding of agile delivery, application resiliency, and secure engineering practices
  • Strong system design skills with the ability to make pragmatic trade-offs and drive alignment across stakeholders
 
 
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Exposure to cloud technologies - AWS EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, Lambdas, EMR, Glue, S3
  • Big Data Technologies such as PySpark, Hadoop, Databricks, ETL, Snowflake
  • Proven experience in designing and building data pipelines (ETL/ELT) using modern technologies (e.g., Python, SQL, Spark, Airflow, etc.)
