Job description

The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to support an emerging Cyber Training program for the Department of Defense located in Orlando, Florida (not a remote position).
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop modern full stack software applications using React, Angular and equivalent JavaScript libraries.
  • Support the development and Integration of Ansible and Python based infrastructure as code and automation software into fully functional production applications.
  • Work through an agile based full-cycle development that includes requirements analysis, design, & implementation.
  • Motivated DevOps software development team member.
  • Apply software engineering standards and assist the engineering team in software system or subsystem development and documentation efforts.
  • Understands and adheres to project schedules and stays within established budgets.
  • Efficiently diagnose and debug front-end and back-end software issues.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate problems and solutions with the team, both verbally and electronically.
  • Proficient in both Front End and Back End development
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as electrical engineering, computer science, information technology, systems or software engineering from an accredited college or university.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum three plus (3+) years software engineering experience.
  • Strong React or equivalent based UX development capabilities
  • Expertise with JavaScript, React, Angular and other related libraries desired
  • Experience in Linux shell scripting.
  • Experience in Java Programming
  • Knowledge in any of the following areas:
    • Experience with containerization of applications
    • Experience with back-end development, including node.js, web servers (Nginx, Apache, etc.), database servers, etc.
    • Secure web-based development
    • Agile development
    • Jira
    • Git
    • Database design

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
