Job Description

Cintas is currently looking for a Software Engineer-Level 3-Operational Technology who will be primarily focused to work on, and be technical lead of, small to large, complex projects that required increased skills in multiple technical environments and knowledge of a specific business area; work closely with Business Analysts and team members to understand the business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions that are aligned with business and IT strategies, and are in compliance with the organization's architectural standards; responsible for application analysis, design, development, integration, enhancement, maintenance, and support.

Job duties include:

  • Analyze existing applications to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements.
  • Design, develop, maintain, document software applications or modules. Follow good development processes, develop application specifications, and identify technical systems requirements.
  • Take ownership of the overall quality of the application: a) Review modules for quality assurance and check compliance with application architecture standards. b) Conduct unit testing of application modules to meet specifications. c) Implement integration plans. Interface with testing teams to incorporate plans into integration testing process.
  • Make modules production ready by staging objects in the correct environment, completing forms, following procedures, and completing necessary documents.
  • Provide Tier II application support. Troubleshoot existing information systems to identify errors or deficiencies and develop solutions.
  • Provide technical coaching and mentoring to less experienced team members.
  • Effectively communicate the status of the projects to the Manager and the Business Analysts.
  • Write product or system development code.
  • Participate in design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on the hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
Skills/Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma/GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Information Technology, including in software engineering
  • Experience in client-server models and modern web-based applications, leveraging a variety of technologies to build robust and scalable solutions
  • Experience with relational database knowledge (e.g., MS SQL)
  • Experience with .Net programming development (e.g., C#, ASP.Net), Python
  • Experience developing system and software requirements and design
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Git, JIRA)
  • Experience working with common scripting languages (ex: JavaScript, PowerShell)
  • Solid understanding of networking
  • Experience supporting a production environment
