The Advanced Engineering Lead is a high-impact technical SME (Subject Matter Expert) who bridges the gap between high-level business strategy and hands-on technical execution. You will be the lead of key projects within automation and testing ecosystems, the driver of facility innovation, and the mentor to a team of engineers. The Advanced Engineering Lead is expected to align leadership with Excellerate Product's core values and operating system by guiding engineering teams to design and operate systems, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement through standardized and visible processes. This role promotes a learning culture by sharing knowledge, coaching teams to develop others, and ensuring that work is made visual to support clarity and alignment. Additionally, the Advanced Engineering Lead models and reinforces key principles-including standard work, stop and fix, copy and improve, and leader as teacher-to strengthen team capability and overall performance.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical proficiency, including experience with PLC controls and programming, project management, HMI/SCADA interface design, and automated test software such as LabVIEW, Python, or PLC-based testing. They are also experienced in both greenfield start-up environments involving new site development and brownfield integration that supports modifications to existing sites.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:Bachelor's Degree in a Core Engineering Discipline - Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering. Master's degree is preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Facility, Test, Automation, Controls, or relevant roles. 8-10 years of experience in Automation and Controls or relevant roles is preferred.
Travel: up to 25%
Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Ability to work a flexible schedule is necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as the primary authority on Test, Facility, and Automation engineering standards and provide input to the Advanced Operation Team on global standards.
  • Translate corporate strategic goals into actionable engineering road maps.
  • Ensure the team's technical direction evolves with industry 4.0 trends and future business needs.
  • Take full accountability for project deliverables within the scope of test, automation, and facilities.
  • Distill complex technical status updates into clear, concise reports for executive leadership and project stakeholders.
  • Identify technical risks early and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
  • Oversee day-to-day tasks for a team of Advanced Test, Automation, and Facility Engineers.
  • Manage task allocation to ensure alignment with project timelines and critical milestones.
  • Balance "player-coach" duties: provide hands-on troubleshooting and design input while leading the team.
  • Exceptional communication skills for customer-facing technical reviews and the ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority..
  • Work toward centralized test and automation platforms that business can grow and develop.
  • Deployment of a scalable project that achieves the product throughput requirements.
  • Successful deployment of automation projects that meet the up-time requirements of the business.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
