Job description

Overview We are seeking an experienced engineer and software developer to join our team supporting defense-related programs. The ideal candidate holds at least a BS in Engineering, has a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in both engineering and Python development, and holds an active U.S. security clearance at Secret level or higher. Work will involve software development for radar/RF systems, data processing and analysis, automation, and instrument integration in mixed Windows and Linux environments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Design, implement, and maintain Python software for data acquisition, processing, analysis, automation, and test support. * Develop software to support radar and RF engineering tasks, including data ingestion, calibration, analysis, and visualization. * Integrate with laboratory and field instrumentation when required (e.g., USB, TCP/IP, VISA, serial). * Work across Windows and Linux platforms; create reproducible deployment and test workflows. * Integrate Python with other tools and languages. * Collaborate with systems engineers, test engineers, and program managers to translate requirements into testable software solutions. * Produce documentation, test plans, and user guides; support lab and field test campaigns as needed. * Adhere to security and programmatic requirements for handling classified information and controlled environments. Job Requirements MINIMUM SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED): * Active U.S. DoD security clearance at Secret level or higher at time of hire. * Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field. * Minimum 5 years professional experience in engineering and a minimum 5 years professional experience in Python development. * Demonstrated Python experience relevant to data processing, analysis, automation, and/or test support. Experience with instrument control is a plus. * Working familiarity with radar and/or RF engineering concepts, measurement techniques, and terminology. * Experience working in both Windows and Linux development/test environments. * Experience with C++ and associated tools (gcc/intel compliers, cmake, Visual Studio, etc). * Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Experience on military programs, especially Navy programs. * Advanced degree (MS or higher) in a relevant engineering discipline. * Experience with signal processing libraries (NumPy, SciPy), plotting/visualization (matplotlib, seaborn, Bokeh), and data formats used in test labs (HDF5, binary formats). * Experience with version control, GitLab, CI/CD, packaging, and test automation. * Experience with real-time or embedded systems and/or FPGA toolchains. * Familiarity with security and compliance processes for classified programs. TRAVEL: Role may require periodic travel to test sites, shipboard environments, or customer facilities. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
