What is a Python React developer?

Python React Developers are software engineers who specialize in building web applications using Python for backend development and React.js for frontend development. These professionals are skilled in creating robust server-side logic with Python frameworks like Django or Flask, while designing interactive and responsive user interfaces with React. Their combined expertise ensures seamless integration between the frontend and backend, resulting in efficient, scalable, and user-friendly applications.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Python React developer?

To thrive as a Python React Developer, you need strong proficiency in Python for backend development and React.js for building dynamic user interfaces, often supported by a degree in computer science or related field. Familiarity with frameworks like Django or Flask, RESTful APIs, version control systems like Git, and modern JavaScript tools is essential, along with experience in cloud platforms or CI/CD pipelines. Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills help you work effectively within development teams and translate client requirements into robust solutions. These skills ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable applications that meet user needs and business objectives in a rapidly evolving tech landscape.

How do Python React developers typically collaborate with backend and frontend teams on a project?

Python React Developers often act as a bridge between backend and frontend teams, leveraging their expertise in both domains. They work closely with backend developers to design and implement RESTful APIs or GraphQL endpoints in Python frameworks like Django or Flask, while also collaborating with frontend specialists to build seamless user interfaces in React. Regular stand-ups, code reviews, and shared documentation are common practices that ensure effective communication and alignment across the team. This collaborative environment helps deliver cohesive and scalable web applications.

What is the difference between Python React Developer vs JavaScript Front-End Developer?

The choice depends on whether the role emphasizes backend skills alongside React or is primarily front-end focused.

Are Python React developers in demand?

Python React developers are in high demand due to the popularity of Python for backend development and React for frontend interfaces. Companies seek developers skilled in both technologies to build full-stack applications, and proficiency in related tools like JavaScript, HTML, and CSS enhances job prospects in this field.

Job description

About the team

Our team is responsible for building the internal systems for the whole engineering team. Our goal is to help engineers navigate across all produced data, investigate problems, and create ad hoc analytics. Our services are used daily across the company: by QA engineers verifying component-level quality, by autonomy engineers investigating unexpected behavior, by ML teams validating new model versions, by safety analysts and data scientists who analyze thousands of scenarios and metrics to assess system readiness, and by release engineers who test our products on public roads.

About the role

We're looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to help us push the boundaries of what web interfaces can do. You'll be responsible for developing several projects. For example, we have the Simulator as a service. This service helps engineers to reproduce scenarios from real-world rides and calculate metrics. You will build tools to help with mining scenarios, organize them, track simulations, and collect metrics. Another example is the fleet-tracking service. It handles our cars' and robots' locations, their building progress, installed equipment, and configuring autopilot to work properly according to the setup. You will develop a system that allows us to safely update the hardware and software setup of our production fleet.

What You'll Do
  • Architecting and implementing React/Typescript applications for different purposes.
  • Collaborating with simulation engineers, the analytics team, and operations teams to ensure robust integration and shape APIs and flows for reliability under edge conditions.
  • Ship fast, iterate often, and deliver responsive, intuitive tools that boost our engineers' productivity.
What you'll need
  • 3+ years of experience developing in production environments.
  • Strong React and TypeScript skills - proven track record building fast, maintainable apps.
  • UI intuition - you care about interface design and performance, and you know how to debug slow or janky UIs.
  • System thinking - you know how frontend fits into the bigger picture, and you write code that holds up under load.
Nice to have
  • Familiarity with telemetry, maps, or robotics/vehicle systems
  • Basic Python or Go skills for debugging backend issues
