What is a Python React developer?

Python React Developers are software engineers who specialize in building web applications using Python for backend development and React.js for frontend development. These professionals are skilled in creating robust server-side logic with Python frameworks like Django or Flask, while designing interactive and responsive user interfaces with React. Their combined expertise ensures seamless integration between the frontend and backend, resulting in efficient, scalable, and user-friendly applications.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Python React developer?

To thrive as a Python React Developer, you need strong proficiency in Python for backend development and React.js for building dynamic user interfaces, often supported by a degree in computer science or related field. Familiarity with frameworks like Django or Flask, RESTful APIs, version control systems like Git, and modern JavaScript tools is essential, along with experience in cloud platforms or CI/CD pipelines. Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills help you work effectively within development teams and translate client requirements into robust solutions. These skills ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable applications that meet user needs and business objectives in a rapidly evolving tech landscape.

How do Python React developers typically collaborate with backend and frontend teams on a project?

Python React Developers often act as a bridge between backend and frontend teams, leveraging their expertise in both domains. They work closely with backend developers to design and implement RESTful APIs or GraphQL endpoints in Python frameworks like Django or Flask, while also collaborating with frontend specialists to build seamless user interfaces in React. Regular stand-ups, code reviews, and shared documentation are common practices that ensure effective communication and alignment across the team. This collaborative environment helps deliver cohesive and scalable web applications.

Job description

LOCATION: Lehi, UT

THE ROLE

As a Full-Stack Developer at Opiniion, you'll help build and improve the products our customers use every day, working across the stack to ship features, improve reliability, and support a fast-moving product and engineering team. Our goal is to communicate key insights to our customers, so they can improve their properties. To accomplish this goal, you will build, maintain, and optimize our primary web application and the services that support it. We are looking for someone who will own meaningful areas of the product with little oversight, while effectively collaborating with the rest of the team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Work on a team of skilled engineers, writing code, reviewing pull requests, and participating in architectural and product discussions.
  • Own backend API services, improving performance, security, and efficiency.
  • Complete devops or frontend tasks when necessary for a project to succeed.
HOW WE BUILD WITH AI

We expect engineers to use AI tools thoughtfully, to move faster and ship better work, while adhering to proven design and architecture principles. We use Claude and Cursor.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong Node.js API skills with experience of owning high-traffic services. You can demonstrate how your architectural and implementation decisions have improved performance, reduced bugs, and increased reliability. You have experience independently working in areas such as authentication, caching, and scalability.
  • Strong SQL database skills. You understand the tradeoffs between different storage technologies and can explain why you chose one over the other. You are familiar with execution plans, specialized indexes, and query optimization, and have redesigned underperforming schemas or queries. You are willing to develop strong NoSQL skills.
  • Frontend development skills. You know Vue, React, or Angular, and can make independent fixes and improvements while following existing architectural patterns.
  • Experience with modern development tooling. You have worked with Docker, GitHub, and AWS, and understand how services such as ECS, Lambda, IAM, and S3 are used to build production systems. Experience troubleshooting local docker issues and CICD pipelines.
HOW YOU WORK
  • You take ownership. You care deeply about the products you build, solving root causes instead of applying quick fixes.
  • You collaborate effectively. You communicate proactively, share knowledge, surface risks early, give thoughtful feedback, and are comfortable challenging ideas when appropriate.
  • You work independently. You take problems from start to finish, making sound decisions and asking for help when needed.
OUR TECHNOLOGY STACK
  • Vue.js, Node.js (TypeScript and JavaScript), Python, React.js, and Ruby.
  • PostgreSQL, Drizzle, and MongoDB.
  • Docker, GitHub, CircleCI, and AWS.
NICE-TO-HAVES
  • Experience building property management or review software.
  • React, Ruby, or MongoDB.
