What is a Python React developer?

Python React Developers are software engineers who specialize in building web applications using Python for backend development and React.js for frontend development. These professionals are skilled in creating robust server-side logic with Python frameworks like Django or Flask, while designing interactive and responsive user interfaces with React. Their combined expertise ensures seamless integration between the frontend and backend, resulting in efficient, scalable, and user-friendly applications.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Python React developer?

To thrive as a Python React Developer, you need strong proficiency in Python for backend development and React.js for building dynamic user interfaces, often supported by a degree in computer science or related field. Familiarity with frameworks like Django or Flask, RESTful APIs, version control systems like Git, and modern JavaScript tools is essential, along with experience in cloud platforms or CI/CD pipelines. Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills help you work effectively within development teams and translate client requirements into robust solutions. These skills ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable applications that meet user needs and business objectives in a rapidly evolving tech landscape.

Job description

Forward Deployed Engineer

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)

Full-Time

Compensation: $185,000–$240,000 base salary + competitive equity

About the Role

We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer with 3–6 years of experience to embed directly with portfolio companies, ship agentic software into live operations, and own outcomes from implementation through ongoing optimization.

This is a Palantir-style Forward Deployed Engineering role at a rapidly growing software holding company. You're not writing decks—you'll be building production systems that create lasting impact across an entire portfolio of software businesses.

What You'll Do

  • Embed with portfolio companies to understand their operating models, build trust with operators, and identify the highest-leverage workflow opportunities for agentic software.

  • Build integrations, prompts, evaluation frameworks, and user interfaces to deploy the first agentic workflows using the company's core platform.

  • Operate and optimize deployed systems after launch, adjusting autonomy levels and ensuring smooth handoffs once solutions are stable.

  • Serve as the primary technical partner for business leaders, setting expectations, building trust, and ensuring successful adoption.

  • Capture successful deployment patterns and develop reusable playbooks that accelerate future implementations across the portfolio.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of experience in full-stack, customer-facing software or product engineering, or Forward Deployed Engineering.

  • Strong full-stack development skills using:
    • TypeScript or Python

    • React

    • SQL

  • Experience shipping production LLM or agentic software, including evaluation frameworks, autonomy controls, and outcome tracking.

  • Prior embedded or customer-facing engineering experience (such as Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or similar deployment-focused roles).

  • Strong business instincts with the ability to understand operational challenges and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Based in or willing to relocate to New York, NY.

  • Comfortable traveling 2–3 days per week throughout the East Coast to customer locations.

Technical Environment

  • TypeScript

  • Python

  • React

  • SQL

  • LLMs / Foundation Models

  • Agentic Workflows

  • Evals

  • Snowflake

  • Databricks

  • Apache Iceberg

  • Event-driven Systems

Additional Information

  • Hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days in the office each week (four preferred).

  • Competitive equity package.

  • Visa sponsorship available.

  • Relocation assistance available.
