Engineer (Multi-Discipline)
Purpose:
  • Valkyrie Enterprises, is looking for a Multi-Disciplined Engineer in Huntsville, AL.

Job Description:
  • Provide engineering development, integration, test, verify and analysis expertise to activities for all-digital models and simulation (M&S) and hardware-in the-loop (HWIL).
  • Develop integrate and execute aerodynamic models and simulations to characterize advanced missiles and threats.
  • Develop, integrate, and execute threat trajectories and signatures into system level models and simulations.
  • Develop, integrate, and execute new and/or modified models and tools used for system design trades and analysis.
  • Develop and integrate appropriate interfaces for simulation architectures.
  • Analyze the data from the trajectories and aerodynamic data to assess model and simulation accuracy.
  • Perform verification, validation, and anchoring on M&S and HWIL efforts.
  • Report results of analysis with recommendations for improving M&S and HWIL.
  • Perform integration and configuration control of models (developed in-house and customer provided) into system-level analysis architecture.
  • Translate systems/capabilities/algorithms into models to support integrated system performance analysis.
  • Derive equations for Electro-Optical and Infrared (EO/IR) and radar cross section signatures using fundamental theory.
  • Explore closed form solutions of EO/IR and Radar signatures for simplified geometries.
  • Develop and test coded implementation in software such as python, C+, C#, Java.
  • Develop and integrate Battle Manager/Fire Control M&S of varying fidelity levels with the framework or other elements of the missile defense system to perform system analysis.
  • Plan and conduct trade studies, analysis of alternatives, and capability analysis.
  • Develop and integrate engagement planning concepts for defense against advanced threats for assessment into system level simulations.
  • Learn and work to gain overall knowledge and proficiencies with engineering tasks and System Engineering processes.
  • Collaborate continuously and mentor team members and others.
  • Continually learn and improve based on focused feedback.

Qualifications:
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, Technology or Math and at least 2 years' experience with M&S and/or HWIL development for defense programs/technologies.
  • Must have the ability to implement threat, sensor, or weapon functionality/algorithms into M&S.
  • Must have the ability to conduct research and perform analysis on requirements, capability, and operational effects.
  • Must be proficient with Python, Matlab, C+, C#, Java, or similar programming languages.
  • Must have a passion for solving problems and providing workable solutions.
  • Must have strong analytical and reasoning skills and ability to visualize processes and outcomes.
  • Must have outstanding all-round communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Must have experience with elector-optics, infrared, radar frequency (RF), or relevant fields.
  • Must have experience in modeling and/or assessing EO/IR and RF targets and countermeasures.
  • Must have experience with EO/IR and RF modeling and analysis.
  • Must have experience with Optical Signatures Code/OPTISIG EO/IR codes is preferred.
  • Must have experience with XPATCH, Lucernhammer, or equivalent RF codes is preferred.
  • Must be highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Must have proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Must have strong customer service orientation.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Prefer experience with real-time M&S and HWIL testing.
  • Prefer experience developing applications for FreeRTOS, VxWorks, or other real-time O/S.
  • Prefer experience designing and implementing graphical user interfaces.
  • Prefer experience with electromagnetics, radar, or similar relevant field.
  • Prefer experience in modeling and/or assessing radar targets and countermeasures.
  • Prefer experience with radar cross section (RCS) modeling and analysis.
  • Prefer experience with Missile Defense Agency.
  • Prefer experience with Army programs (Aviation and Missile Center, Space and Missile Defense Command).
  • Prefer experience with following languages/technologies: Linux, Windows, Microservice Patterns, Docker, Kubernetes, Gitlab/Github/Git, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, Cloud Services, Automation, JIRA, Java/Scala/Python/Groovy/Gradle, Functional Programming.
  • Prefer proficiency with high-performance computing (HPC) resources.

Security Requirements:
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance.
  • Prefer an Active DoD Secret clearance.

Travel Requirements:
  • Occasional Travel; 25% or less.
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
