Description
Brock & Scott, PLLC, is seeking an experienced Lead QA Engineer to serve as the primary quality assurance resource within our IT team.
This is a foundational role responsible for establishing and scaling QA practices across the organization. The Lead QA Engineer will independently own the full software testing lifecycle while helping define automation standards, testing processes, and quality strategies that support the firm's growing technology platform.
This position is ideal for a hands-on QA professional who thrives in a highly autonomous environment, enjoys building structure where none exists, and wants to have a direct impact on software quality and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Planning & Execution
  • Design and execute comprehensive test plans, scenarios, and scripts based on requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Perform manual and automated testing, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing
  • Own regression testing strategy and ensure test coverage evolves with system changes

Automation & Strategy
  • Build, maintain, and expand automated test scripts and frameworks
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and increase
  • Contribute to the firm's long-term QA automation strategy and standards
  • Defect Management & Quality Analysis
  • Create clear, actionable defect reports with severity and business impact analysis
  • Manage the full defect lifecycle, including triage, escalation, and validation
  • Analyze test results to identify systemic quality issues and improvement opportunities

Collaboration & Communication
  • Partner closely with developers and Business Analysts to validate solutions and ensure alignment with business requirements
  • Communicate testing status, defects, and release readiness to stakeholders and IT leadership

Process Development & Governance
  • Establish and maintain QA documentation, standards, and processes
  • Ensure QA practices align with IT governance, change management, and audit requirements
  • Build scalable QA practices to support future growth of the team

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years with demonstrated ownership and professional experience in software QA or testing
  • Experience independently owning testing for software features or full
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and testing methodologies
  • Experience with at least one automated testing framework (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright)
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases

Preferred
  • Experience in legal, financial services, or consulting environments
  • Familiarity with case management or legal platforms
  • Agile or hybrid SDLC experience
  • QA certifications (e.g., ISTQB)
  • Experience helping build or scale QA automation frameworks

Benefits Details Brock & Scott, PLLC offers an attractive benefit package to full-time employees on the 1st of the following month of hire. The insurance portion includes medical, dental, voluntary life, voluntary vision, and critical illness, all at competitive rates. At the 90-day introductory period, the Firm also provides a basic life insurance policy in the amount of one time your annual salary (with a minimum of $25,000 and a maximum of $200,000.00) at no cost.
Full-time employees receive paid holidays, including six (6) firm-recognized holidays and one (1) Day of Observance, as well as a PTO package of 14 days per year. PTO accrues monthly and is credited on the 15th of each month, in accordance with firm policy. PTO benefits increase after 2 years of employment and again after 5 years of employment. After six months of service, employees over the age of 21 become eligible to participate in the firm's 401(k) plan at the beginning of the next quarter.
Pre-Employment Requirements: Employment with Brock & Scott, PLLC is contingent upon the successful completion of all required pre-employment screenings and verifications, which may include, but are not limited to, a criminal background check, conflict of interest check, employment and education verification (as applicable), and a pre-employment drug screening. Drug testing is conducted only after a conditional offer of employment has been extended and in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Compensation Details: $73k - $94k annually. The compensation amount is not guaranteed. Individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate. This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position, however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, experience, and qualifications.
