Position Summary

The Senior Systems Engineer will lead the design, integration, and verification of advanced thermal imaging systems. Working closely with hardware, firmware, optical, and manufacturing teams, this role plays a key part in delivering innovative imaging products from concept through production.

This position reports directly to the VP of Engineering and will be instrumental in defining system architecture, validating performance, and mentoring team members to uphold engineering excellence.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and manage system architecture and technical requirements for thermal imaging products.
  • Perform system-level analyses and develop performance budgets (NETD, MTF, latency, throughput).
  • Collaborate with product management and technical leads to align product roadmaps and engineering strategies.
  • Develop and execute validation and verification plans for reliability, performance, and compliance.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for system-level issues across development phases.
  • Lead design reviews, ensuring requirements traceability and risk mitigation.
  • Partner with manufacturing, quality, and test teams to ensure smooth transition to production.
  • Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in systems engineering processes.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong foundation in imaging sensor and system design.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or similar tools for modeling and analysis.
  • Experience with optical alignment, calibration, and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with AI-enhanced imaging, intelligent edge processing, or semiconductor fabrication preferred.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
