Job description

Overview
As an intern on our Accounting team, you will have the opportunity to expand your accounting knowledge while learning how to prepare and reconcile financial statements and general ledgers. You will work on projects that give you exposure to multiple departments (such as trading, operations and technology) as well as multiple systems (both third party platforms and those internally developed) to ensure that proper documentation is obtained and accurate reporting is performed. You will also have the unique opportunity to learn about current accounting rules and how they impact various aspects of the business.
Are you interested in our Summer 2027 Accounting Internship? Apply here, and we will reach out in August when recruiting begins.
What we're looking for
  • Students pursuing a degree in Accounting with intention to graduate with a bachelor's or master's degree within one year of the internship program
  • Candidates with an advanced knowledge of Excel, as well as experience with Python, HTML, VBA or SQL preferred
  • Prior co-op/internship/project experience in accounting, a plus
  • Students who have an ability to collaborate with a team while having the confidence to work independently
  • Candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit who are flexible and have a commitment to innovation
  • Individuals with an ability and desire to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Students who demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Visa sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position now or in the future

What's In It For You
  • Our non-hierarchical culture allows employees of every level to thrive and make impact. We are not your typical trading firm - the environment is casual, collaborative and we focus on continuous development.
  • In addition to providing hands-on experience through daily tasks and project work, the program will introduce you to Susquehanna's formal education program through classroom training sessions focused on developing company specific knowledge and technical skills to facilitate process optimization. Topics may include options theory, game theory, decision science, programming (VBA, SQL, Python) and overviews of our trading desks and other areas of our business.
  • Opportunity to network with coworkers across the firm and build relationships with recently graduated mentors
  • Housing provided for duration of internship
  • Relaxed dress code: jeans and sneakers are the norm, shorts all summer long
  • Fully stocked kitchens for breakfast, lunch, snacks, and beverages
  • A forty thousand square-foot state of the art fitness facility with brand-new equipment, multi-purpose courts, group exercise classes, and locker room spaces
  • Discounts for dining, entertainment, shopping, travel, and attractions
  • Social events including a poker tournament, dinners, and sporting events in Philadelphia
  • On-site Wellness Center
  • On-site services such as a mailroom, barber, dry cleaning, and car maintenance
