Work EnvironmentDevelopment projects, coding tasksData analysis, modeling, research
Industry UsageSoftware, tech companies, startupsFinance, healthcare, tech

The Python Programming Intern typically focuses on coding and software development using Python, often in tech or startup environments. In contrast, a Data Science Intern combines Python skills with data analysis and statistical methods to derive insights. Both roles require Python knowledge but differ in their focus and application areas, making them distinct yet related entry-level positions in the tech industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Python Programming Intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Python Programming Intern, you need a foundational understanding of Python syntax, problem-solving abilities, and a basic grasp of software development principles, often evidenced by relevant coursework or personal projects. Familiarity with tools like Git, Jupyter Notebook, and frameworks such as Flask or Django is typically expected. Strong communication, eagerness to learn, and teamwork skills help interns adapt quickly and collaborate effectively. These skills and qualities are vital for successfully contributing to real-world projects, learning from mentors, and building a foundation for a software development career.

What does a Python Programming Intern do?

A Python Programming Intern assists with software development tasks using the Python programming language. Typical responsibilities include writing and testing code, debugging software, collaborating with team members on projects, and learning best practices for coding and version control. Interns often work on real-world projects to gain hands-on experience and improve their programming skills. They may also participate in meetings, contribute to documentation, and support the development team in various tasks.

What types of projects can I expect to work on as a Python Programming Intern, and how are they typically structured?

As a Python Programming Intern, you will often be assigned to real-world projects such as data analysis scripts, web application features, or automation tools, depending on the organization's focus. These projects are usually structured with clear objectives and milestones, and you'll likely collaborate with more experienced developers through code reviews and regular check-ins. You can expect to work both independently and as part of a team, gaining exposure to professional codebases, version control systems like Git, and agile development practices. This hands-on experience is designed to help you build practical skills while contributing meaningfully to the team's goals.

FF is committed to redefining mobility through AI innovation. Join us in shaping the future of intelligent transportation and technology by creating something new, something connected, and something with a true global impact.

Your Role:

We are seeking for Finance & AI Automation Intern. This is a seat for a technically-minded student who is excited about AI and wants to apply it inside a real public-company finance team. You'll use AI tools (and some simple code where it helps) to speed up the repetitive parts of finance, and get real exposure to the company's capital-markets and funding activity. You don't need a finance background — we'll teach you the finance. What matters most is that you're comfortable with technology, genuinely curious about AI, and eager to learn and build.

Key Responsibilities:

  • AI & Automation: Use AI tools (and basic Python or no-code tools where helpful) to help speed up data cleaning, categorization, research, and reporting that the team does manually today; help build, test, and document small automations and AI workflows under the guidance of the finance team.
  • Finance Support: Support core finance work as you learn it — financial analysis, reporting, reconciliations, and month-end data preparation.
  • Capital Markets: Help track equity financing (e.g., committed equity / ELOC), convertible instruments, and financing timelines; support cap-table, dilution, and funding trackers and investor / IR materials.
  • Research: Conduct market, peer, and investor research (accelerated with AI) and prepare clean, well-sourced summaries for the finance and IR teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Technical Aptitude (primary focus): Strong aptitude for and genuine interest in AI and technology; comfortable going beyond chatting with AI — some exposure to basic coding (e.g., Python) or building simple automations through coursework, class projects, or personal projects. You don't need professional experience; curiosity and a willingness to learn matter most.
  • Finance Interest: Able to read a basic P&L, or eager to learn; comfortable learning the company's financial systems and working with data.
  • Detail Orientation: Proactive, reliable, detail-oriented, and someone who enjoys figuring out smarter ways to do things in a fast-moving, lean environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Capital markets: Some interest in or exposure to capital markets and fundraising (e.g., equity / debt raising, ELOC / convertibles, investor materials, or SEC filings) through coursework, a club, an internship, or self-study.
  • Tools: Familiarity with tools like Python, no-code automation (e.g., Zapier / Make), or AI coding assistants.
  • Projects: Anything you've built with AI or code — even a class project, a small script, or a personal side project — we'd love to hear about it.
  • Language: Bilingual Mandarin Chinese is a plus.

Salary Rate:

$ 19/HR

Perks + Benefits

  • Healthcare + dental + vision benefits (Free for you/discounted for family)
  • 401(k) options
  • Casual dress code + relaxed work environment
  • Culturally diverse, progressive atmosphere
