What do Python programmers do?

A Python programmer uses the programming language called Python to write code for various applications, including big data manipulation, web servers, program scripting, and more. In this career, the software allows you to program quicker using fewer lines, which creates an easy-to-read code. You can find work in web or game development, data visualization, and analyzing data, among others. Your job duties vary based on your specialization, but they usually include working with files and extensive support libraries, creating, testing and implementing new or updated applications, and examining the code to spot problems.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Python programmer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Python Programmer, you need strong proficiency in Python programming, understanding of algorithms, and a background in computer science or related fields. Familiarity with development tools like Git, testing frameworks such as PyTest, and experience with libraries like Django or Flask are typically required. Job description

Title: AI Developer w/Strong Python

Location: Sacramento, CA (Hybrid)

Duration: 6-month Contract-to-Hire (C2H)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a hands-on AI Developer with strong Python expertise and proven foundational AI experience to support a large-scale enterprise AI transformation.

This is not an entry-level or “learn AI on the job” role—we are looking for developers who already have real exposure to AI/ML concepts and LLM-based solutions and want to accelerate into advanced AI engineering.

You will play a key role in a Microsoft 365 Copilot and agent-driven transformation, helping transition existing ChatGPT-based solutions into scalable, enterprise-grade AI platforms. This role blends application development, AI agent design, and workflow automation across core business functions.

We value individuals with a strong engineering mindset, accountability, and a growth-oriented attitude who are ready to contribute immediately while continuing to level up.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. AI Solution & Agent Development
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI-powered applications, copilots, and intelligent agents
  • Build and configure AI agents, custom GPTs, and copilots using:
    • Azure OpenAI / Azure AI Foundry
    • Microsoft Copilot Studio & Microsoft 365 Copilot
    • ChatGPT Enterprise (SKAI), Claude, and other approved platforms
  • Develop APIs, integrations, and services connecting AI to enterprise systems and workflows
  • Configure prompts, guardrails, workflows, and tool integrations to optimize performance and outcomes
  • Support full lifecycle: design → deployment → monitoring → optimization
  1. AI Enablement & Enterprise Integration
  • Develop and support RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) and enterprise knowledge solutions
  • Integrate AI capabilities with platforms including:
    • Microsoft 365
    • ERP, MES, LIMS, CRM, ServiceNow
    • Enterprise data platforms (Databricks, etc.)
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify and deliver high-impact AI use cases
  • Help transition legacy solutions from ChatGPT to Copilot + agent-based architecture
  • Support user adoption, onboarding, and feedback loops
  1. Operations & Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor AI systems for performance, reliability, security, and cost efficiency
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across applications, agents, and integrations
  • Evaluate AI output quality and improve accuracy through testing and feedback
  • Support production deployments, release management, and documentation
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to scale solutions

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong Python development experience (non-negotiable)
  • 6–12 months of hands-on AI/ML or LLM experience (practical, not theoretical)
  • Experience building or working with AI-enabled applications, automation, or APIs
  • Understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, or AI workflows
  • Solid foundation in software engineering, integrations, and problem-solving

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Azure AI, OpenAI, or Microsoft Copilot ecosystem
  • Exposure to agent-based AI, copilots, or workflow automation platforms
  • Familiarity with enterprise system integrations (M365, ERP, CRM, etc.)
  • Experience with Databricks or enterprise data environments

What We’re Looking For:

  • Developers with real AI exposure—not zero-to-one learners
  • Strong Python engineers who can quickly adapt to AI-first development
  • Individuals with ownership mindset, strong culture fit, and positive attitude
  • Candidates motivated to grow into senior AI engineering roles

Why Join:

  • Work on a large-scale enterprise AI (365/Copilot) transformation
  • Build real-world AI agents, copilots, and automation at scale
  • Partner with top-tier external AI vendors and platforms
  • Opportunity to upskill rapidly in enterprise AI
  • Clear path to full-time conversion after 6 months
